This occurred to me a number of days ago and is weird as all ever, but it seems that (atleast in the tech world) 8 is an unlucky number.

• Windows 8 was initially a mess and a major pain to use,
• Minecraft 1.8 broke pretty much anything back-end related (command blocks, plugins, redstone, etc)
• IOS 8 brought along apple music, ugh.
• Youtube fell apart 8 years after its launch, with the addition of G+ and the “revamped” comment system, leading to massive backlash.

Anyway, that’s just a few things I’ve noticed, I’m taking off my conspiracy hat now. (Thankfully we stopped counting FunLand versions at 5)
